Last Thursday I flew to Budapest with my sister. We’ve never visited this city before so we we’re really excited! I didn’t really had expectations about Budapest, I only thought that it would be a bit like Prague (which I visited last year). But oh girl, I was wrong! Budapest really reminded me of Barcelona in a way. The buildings, the colors.. I love!
Anyway, we arrived around 13:00 in our appartement. We did a little touch up and went out to have some lunch. After lunch we visited some shops and we walked around. My sister really wanted to eat tapas so we searched for a nice restaurant online. We found a tapas place called Vicky and decided to go there. It was located in a cute and colorful area with a lot of restaurants and (young) people. So fun!
The next morning we had breaky at Oh My Green. Love this spot! I went for an acai bowl, which was really good. We bought tickets for a hop on hop off bus that day. I really recommend doing that, because this bus brings you to all the sights and you can go on and of the whole day. We also visited some local shops and thrift shops, I especially liked a concept / thrift store called Retrorock.
On Sunday we also bought tickets for the bus. We did some sight seeing again and strolled around. Budapest is known for it’s thermal baths. A lot of people recommended us to go to Széchenyi, which is the most famous thermal bath in Budapest. So we decided to go for a little spa night on Sunday. And I have to be honest, we didn’t liked it at all. It was crowded, dirty, loud and smelly. So after one hour we left for some cocktails, which we did enjoy haha.
We only we’re in Budapest for 2,5 days but I really fell in love with this city. I will for sure visit this city again. I also heard and saw that there are a lot of galleries and museums in Budapest. But we had so little time that I didn’t had the chance to visit them. So that’s on my to do list for the next time I go!
Did you ever visit Budapest?!
